The name of our little seaside town, Kalo Nero, means “good waters”, attesting to the gorgeous coast. You’ll even see rare Caretta Caretta turtles nesting on the beach in front of the hotel, and we ask you to admire them without disturbing their habitats. Beyond swimming in our award-winning beach (complete with Blue Flag recognition), there are other spots along the beach where you can enjoy water sports of course. For those who prefer the pool, our aqua fitness classes will keep you in shape while totally enjoying yourself!

Beyond the property and its beach, there’s so much to see and do in this part of the Peloponnese! To begin with, Messina Resort is just 7 kilometers away from the gorgeous town of Kyparissia with its cobblestone streets, castle, shops, restaurants and night spots. If you like outdoor activities, you’re going to love the beach sports which are offered in the greater area such as scuba diving to windsurfing, but also the hiking opportunities and nature walks could be a nice option too. Just half an hour away lies Kaiafas lake and thermal springs. About an hour away on a windy road lies the surprising waterfalls of the Neda River, a lush green romantic spot that’s worth the detour. A little further out, you can find the Ancient Olympia (50 minutes by car) and the temple of Epikouros Apollo up in the mountains (1 hour away) , so is the archeological site of Ancient Messene. From a road trip in the nearby suroundings you can find traditional villages such as Andritsena which offer a cool alternative to the seaside. More south, gorgeous little coastal towns such as Gialova, Pylos and Methoni – each with their historic castle – should not be missed if you’re exploring by car. The seaside cafés and restaurants in these three towns are great for admiring the views and relaxing over an iced coffee or a meal.
